Teotista
I'm looking for the meaning of Teotista (Théotiste in French). It is a feminine name from Greek origin and some sources claim that the meaning is "intoxicated of God". This meaning sounds plausible because of the Teo- beginning, but I don't know the reliability of these sources.
To me, Teotista looks like a femeninne variant or evolution of Theoctistos. Is it possible? And if yes, what is the meaning of Theoctistos?
Is the meaning "intoxicated of God" for Teotista and/or for Theoctistos correct?
Thank you very much.

According to several sources I found online, including this one:

the Greek -ktistos suffix means "to establish." If you look up Saint Theoctistus, you can find links that say San Teotisto, so your connection seems to be correct as I suspected it would be, but the proof was hard to find as he was a minor saint. I should have searched for the Latinized spelling of Theoktistos earlier. It would have saved me a lot of time. :-)
