In Spanish, the V is always pronounced B. And the group IE after a consonant is a diphthong: NYEH.

Before a post of a English speaker in this forum, I noted the diphthongue in Spanish as NEE EH-behs (there aren't two syllables, only one). But

In (Castilian or American) Spanish the I and the A in Luciana are in one syllable: loo- THEE AH-nah / loo-SEE AH-nah (I don't know how to represent the diphtongue).

Then, I interpret that to an English speaker the Y represents the semiconsonant.
All would be more easy and correct using the IPA.
