What's the origin of MYDRIM

I know a man in his eighties, of welsh background, who has the first name MYDRIM. Can anyone shed any light on the origin of this first name for me? I would be most grateful for any emails on the subject.

The more general form of this name is Meidrym or Meidrim. It is the name of a town in Dyfed, Wales. It's meaning is "middle ridge".
