Please help!!
My name is Achsha. Pronounced Asha, the ch is silent. When my mother was pregnent she saw the name Asha and thought it was pretty, she didnt know anything about the origin of the name, she just liked different names. When filling out my birth certificate months later she forgot the correct spelling and spelt it Achsha. I came to find out that Asha is Sanscrit and means life, but when I did a search on google for Achsha it accually came up! There were several people with my name dating back to the 1700-1800s. I am not sure the gender of these people, I tend to assume it may be a biblical name because of the time period, but I may be way off. It would mean so much to me to know the real meaning of my name. Any help is greatly appreciated!!Thanks!

hi achsha! my name is Asha too, but spelt Asha. the same story was with my name too. when my mum was pregnant, she saw the name on tv and really liked it. so she called me that. later, my mum met an indian person and she told her the name was hindi for 'hope'. My birthday is August 30th and i'm 11 years old. what about you? it's good to know that someone else has the same name as me. i live in Newbury, West Berkshire. bye! from Asha Mariah Lucas Knight. hi! asha... my name is asha too. what i know about 'asha' is very few. my mum told me that 'asha' means like in malayam(kerala-south india). not just that, it also means hope... we should be proud with our name anyway... 'Asha' is a very short, cool and beautiful name... anyway... bye

Hello Asha,,im 22 weeks pregnant and have found out we are having a girl,,,we choose Asha as her name,,,i saw it on an Arabic name site,,my Husband is Muslim and has an Arabic name too.It told mean the meaning of the name Asha was lively!!!! Take care, Debbie
