Frixos (Where's Pavlos?) :)
Someone on the Opinions board posted a list of birth announcements from Sydney, Australia that included a boy named Frixos. A little bit of Googling seems to show this is a Greek name, but I couldn't find anything about its origin. Does anyone out there know any more about this name?

Spot-on, Marija :)
Generally, Greek names with a Ö (phi) are transliterated in english with a ph - some however opr for a plain old F :)

Yes, that was me. I have a very good Greek friend that introduced me to Greek music and taught me loads about names. I've told her to come post on here a number of times because she knows so much about them. I still have a lot to learn. :-)
I'm a bit of a Hellenophile ;)

Thanks to you both!
Well, Frixos would be an alternitive transliteration of Phrixos, which is a name from mythology. See the Latinized name, Phrixus.
