I'm doing a website about a fav anime of mine and I was going to use your name meanings as a base. Here is some information:

Gender: Boy
Origin: Japanese ( I do not know what dialect)

you are talking about rurouni kenshin, are you not? i am curiouse to find out the meaning of shinta as well. Plese let me know if you find anything!

Rurouni Kenshin, right? Love that anime.
I know that it can't be exactly translated, as the "-ta" escapes all translation. The "shin" is easy enough. One thing I heard of was either "soft heart" or "pure heart". Anything with a heart in it goes.
However, it can also be used as a girl's name, which might or might not surprise you.
