Does anyone half any information on the name Katika ... all I can tell you is that the name if female. I knew a girl in highschool with this name and unfortunately I have know idea what her ethnic background was.

Yeah, it's my name. It is a diminutive of Katherine in much of eastern Europe and the former soviet states. It is also a preposition meaning something akin to "during", "through", or "at" in Swahili, which is spoken in much of Kenya and some bordering nations.

It sounds like Polish or Russian to me!!
