Hi my friend's last name is Cancro. I am trying to figure out what her ethnic background is. Any opinions on what it is? I think it's Italian but I'm not sure.

Yes, cancro has two meanings in Italian: it either means "cancer" as the disease or as the zodiacal symbol of the crab...it's not very popular nowadays, but usually in names it's meant as the symbol :)
