In Spanish the names Alcides, prn. al-SEED-es is from Greek origin meaning "strong and vigorous". Might be an adjective form of Aquiles, meaning "related to Aquiles". Patronymic form of Alceo (meaning "son of Alceo"). One of the names Hercules is known as.
