This name has been in my family for generations. We belive it to be dutch or german. It was my great grandmothers name she was from amdem germeny which is near holland. Her family may have been form holland. The name is REENSTINE. Some of my family belive that the orginal spelling was with an .. over the frist e. THere is no proof though

Reenstine / Renstine is an East Frisian name. It's a further development of forms like e.g. Rensche, Rensje, Rensk, Renske, Renskea, Reenste, Renste, Rentje, Reentje.
They all come from Old High German names starting with Rein- (like Reinhild, Reinburg, Reinfriede, Reingard etc.). "Rein" means "counsel, guiding gods".
Reenstine can also be a combination of one of these above mentioned Reen-/Ren- names and names ending with -stine like Ernestine, Christine, Kerstine or Justine.
