A question about Desiree
I've seen Desiree spelled Désirée and Desirée. I was wondering which one is the correct one. Is there a difference between France and North America in spelling?Miranda

Well, my name is Desirae...not a very common spelling. I believe the original spelling is Desireé. Funny thing is...I actually AM French! But there are about 65 different ways to spell different versions of our name, and as far as I am concerned, they are all correct.

My friend was Desiree, pronounced Dezray (except by her preschool teacher, who insisted on Daisy-Ray!), until she started learning French, when her spelling and pronunciation underwent a sudden change!I always call her Dez or Daisy and she answers happily enough. I find it a bit frou-frou, but the meaning's good.

Its personal preference, and I would imagine that Désirée is used in France or Belgium. My oldest daughter's name is Desiree and I didnt spell it with any of the accents, but then again, I'm not French. Its a great name isnt it :)ANovack
