Leah isn't really all that far off from the meaning of "Sharona" or "Sharon". You must be thinking of "Sarah", Array, which means "princess". Click on Sharona and you'll see it lead you to Sharon, which is a place name for "plain" in Hebrew.
The rose association comes in because the plain of Sharon (which extends from Mount Carmel south to Jaffa) was noted for the wild flowers (translated as "roses" in the English bible) which grow in abundance there.
In the biblical book titled "Song of Solomon", there is a poetic verse which reads: "I am a rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
So, in essence, while the name Sharona may literally mean "a plain", the name signifies "a plain of roses" -- or, a rose from that plain.

You're right that folks still need to check that "handy little box" on the main page. She would've found Sharona there, all righty. :)

I know I'll offend a few people here, but...
...to me it's like that one person who posted a question about his/her name, but didn't include his/her gender. A few of us might recall my response. :)
Anyway, there are some people (I'm not saying that the originator of this thread is like this, but) who either have a harder time researching or are just too lazy to do the "clickwork" themselves.
