Re: Does any one know the meaning of Arushma?
in reply to a message by arushma
A Google search for Arushma returns next to nothing. If this happens for a name it usually means that the name is unique, and that in turn usually means that somebody invented it.
A slim chance might be to find out that Arushma is just a very unconventional spelling of another, more common name, and then try to find a meaning for that name. But I don't have an idea how to spell this name differently. In German one would probably write 'Aruschma', but that name does not exist.
It seems to me that your only chance is to ask your parents about the name, and if that is not possible or they do not know either, put the matter to rest.
Anyway, also a lot of people with quite common names share this fate because for many names the meaning is simply unknown.

http://members.fortunecity.com/instrument2000/namamhs.htm shows an Arusma Delima, and I can also find references to Arusma Papillons. No, I do not think it is unique, just a variant spelling. Not quite clear as to the meaning, however.
The other name Vashma the OP asked for sometime back might be more rare: in Sanskrit, Bhasma means ashes (etymologically `chewed' or `devoured') :-) but Vashma is the common word for some dye: species of Indigo or Black Henna or something ... I did not follow up.
To OP: increasing the number of ? in the subject line is unlikely to jog people's memory into suddenly remembering what they do not know. What would be far more useful would be to replace those with a description of your ethnicity, the language your parents spoke, their religion if they had any and you know it, and where your guess where (i.e. which language/country/continent) your parents (or whoever you think named you) may have gotten the name from.
