My name is angie. Armettie was my grandmother's name. It is the only name in my family that I can't find a meaning for unless it is from Amity meaning friendship? Grandma was born and raised in south dakota. relatives are irish, scottish, english. Some are direct immigrants. If anyone has an idea other than mine please let me know.

I am angie who asked about this name. I found my grandmother's first name was Bessie which is an english form of Elizabeth so the origin may also be english. Other names in the family were Lena, Cora, Nell, Harvey and George. Grandma's middle name was Armettie and that is the meaning I am looking for.
