Cerebus is a name from greek mythology. It was a 3 headed dog that guarded the under world for hades.

Here in South Africa there's a brand of table salt called Cerebos; why, I don't know. It's got a picture of a little chicken in a hurry, and the slogan: See How It Runs.

Cerebus is the name of a barbarian (aren't they all?) aardvark in a Canadian comic book series. I've not read it.

Best I can tell from the sparse citations on the 'Net, Cerebus seems to be an infrequent alternate spelling of Cerberus. Not very exciting, is it?

Cerberus was the three-headed dog that guarded Hades' domain (the Greek underworld.) One of the labors of Herakles was to bring Cerberus up from Hades to the "upper world".
