Need help pronouncing this name

Hi! I've been trying to figure out how to pronounce the name Carys. I know it's Welsh and female name. I like how it's spelled but not too sure how to pronounce it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, I gotta agree with Merriment here ...

Believe it or not, some Welsh names are pronounced just as they look. Perhaps we do it purposely to confuse people, I don't know ... :)

Hi Crayola Girl!

The Welsh pronunciation is kah-rees (long a like in "father", long ee like in "feet", stress on the first syllable)

Nope. It's the 'rhymes with Paris' one. :)

Sorry. But I know a number of Carys's here in Wales, and that's how they pronounce it. Not Care-is (that would be Cerys), not caaah-ris, just ca-ris. :)
