My best friend's birth mother gave her the middle name Quiara. She hasn't been able to find her birth mother and wants to know more about her middle name to understand why it was possibly given to her. She pronounces it like key-are-uh, but she isn't sure if that is right. She thinks it's Spanish.

My name happens to be Quiara, however I must be in the absolute minority in pronounciation: key-air-ah.
As best I can tell, the name should actually be pronounced K'yara and appears to be a bastardized French dialectical form of Clara.

My guess would be that's a different spelling/form of Chiara, pronounced like key-ah-rah, which is the Italian form of Clara.

My 7 year old, 6 year old and 4 year old LOVE the Lion King and thats all they ever watch and because of that, I'm quite familiar with the characters now lol. Its funny because one of the lion cubs is named Quiara, or maybe its spelled as Kiarra? not sure, just heard the name about a million and one times however I'll look into that for you whenever I have a chance.
