Neneh
I have recenlty fallin in love with the name Neneh, and would like to know more about it. I have found out that other forms of the name are Nenneh, Nenne, Nene. There is a singer named Neneh Cherry and she was born in Sweden, so the name may be Swedish in origin. Does anyone knows the meaning of the name(& origin)of the name?

It’s west African origin
Neneh simply means "baby" or "little one". The name origins from Senegambia. My name Nataliá-Neneh so I happen to know where this comes from. By the way, if you ever consider naming your daughter Neneh, don't hesitate. It is a great and unique name. It is also hard to pronounce to some. People might say "Neena" or "Neenee". If that happens, just politely correct them.
With love and peace,
Nataliá-Neneh

That sounds like a variation of Nina.
In case you're still interested after all this time, Neneh Cherry is half Swedish and half Sierra Leonean. Her first name is a Sierra Leonean/West African name. According to http://www.kwenu.com "Nenne" means "good mother".
Hi;
Well, the origins of the name Neneh could be just about anything - after all, Neneh's brother's name is Eagle Eye Cherry!
But I may have something here: in Sweden and Finland, we have the nickname Nenne, which can be short for any female name containing the letter N. Neneh Cherry's full name is Neneh Marianne Karlsson Cherry.
I've always thought that Neneh is just a nn for Marianne...

Not my end of Africa so I'm a bit vague, but I knew a Nigerian girl once whose name was Nnenne (four Ns) because she was born on a particular day of the week. Can't recall which day!
Well Nene is the Hawaiin word for the State bird, the Hawaiin goose. It is actually a very beautiful bird and considered very special by the Hawaiin people. I've had the opportunity to observe them at several bird parks, and all of those that I saw seemed even tempered to friendly. If you search for Nene or Hawaiin goose, you may be able to find the meaning.
Do you know the meaning of Kikahakaiwa?
