Does anyone know the meaning of the surname Jagger?. I believe it is of German origin.

Reason I listed the name as German, is because I found the name on a site that was listing German surnames.

The English surname Jagger...

as in Mick, comes from a dialect word for a carter (i.e. someone who moves goods by cart).

If the origin is German it might come from the German surname Jäger which means "hunter".
