origin and age of name arianna or ariana
My name is Arianna or Ariana. And so let me tell you a bit about myself and my connection to the name. My father was born in 1900 on the french side of st. maarten an island in the caribbean. I was born in 1948, my father had the task of naming me, so he search a dictionary and found the name ariella, he then decided to substitute ella with anna which was his sisters name. And so I ended up with the name Arianna, registered in 1948. Since then I have met other people with the name spelled both ways, and all my junior. I was wondering if indeed the name existed before my father made it for me. Please help me. A searching soul, Arianna - Ariana

About Arianna
I found that Ariana means "full of life" at a website of muslim names. I'm curious about what the origin of the name for that particular meaning is? Any ideas?

Also, Ariana in Spanish means "from Aries". I have heard Ariana and the variant Ariane, several times. It is somewhat common in South America.
I suppose, your name has special meaning, because of the way you got it. I would suggest that you take the meaning of the name Ariella, combined with the meaning of the name Anna and try to find a unique meaning for your name.
:o) Good luck,
