I suppose you could see it that way, but according to my beliefs, Catholics are idol-worshippers. (Not intended as an insult.) The thing is, I've encountered waaay too many ppl who think Catholism is the _same_ as Christianity.

And they probably think you're a heretic (not me, this is intended as the french 'on', something english sadly lacks, along with you sing.) but we've all got to rub along together, seeing as we're all stuck on the same planet.
Heretic, fundamentalist, bigot, Protestant Christian, Bible-quoting, etc...! LOL!! I enjoy finding the origins of such "insults".
Heretic: from heresy = anyone who holds beliefs other than official church doctrine. (Yeah.)
Fundamentalist = one who follows the foundation "truths" of his/her religion. (Well duh!)
Bigot: from Spanish _hombre de bigote_ = man with a moustache, therefore man of spirit. (Well, let's hope I've ot some spirit, though I'll pass the moustache!)
Protestant = one who protests. (Again, duh!)
Christian = one who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. (Yeah, so?)
Bible-quoting: why not? I believe it!
And so on. I totally agree people should be tolerant of other religions. However, it's been taken to far both ways. People should be allowed to witness their religion in a pleasant, non-pushy manner, but not to call names, accuse, etc. If they see, i.e., homosexualism as wrong, they should be allowed to say so, but not in a derogatory or accusing manner. I could go on, but...Oh, well!
