Not entirely - though I'm sure you're right and the namers who perpetrated Taniqua were just playing jazz; but there's a range of mountains here in South Africa called Outeniqua! I don't know where the morphemes split, but it means something like Laden With Honey (lots of wild flowers, and therefore a good scavenging ground for honey hunters).
