Re: meaning of my name

I do not know the meaning of Sarishna.
However, it is used in Northwest part of the Indian subcontinent. I do not recognize it as a Sanskrit word, but it does sound vaguely Arabic-Persian-Indian, and it may describe sickly newborns in some Pakistani dialect: (I mention that since it may indicate that the word may have something to do with a pale colour or leanness or some such thing).
Just as a sidenote, the English word Saracen ultimately derives from a semitic root for east. As a wild guess, maybe that is related?
