I have a girlfriend with the name Astie,and I was wondering what it really means.it has something to do with light I think.though I'm not shure.so if anyone could tell me some more I would apreciate it.

My last name is Astie. My grand mother told it translates to "the little one's" Our tree can be traced to South France. What's your girlfriends first name? Where do you all live? May be she's related to me. Not may Astié in this world.

My guess is that it's either related to Greek "aster" meaning "star", or a pet form of Astrid from Old Norse.
