Att: Merriment
Thanks for you help, I thought one idea may be to find the Welsh names for some of my family names?
e.g.
John = Ieuan
Peter = Pedr (how is this pronouced?)
How does Ieuan Pedr sound to you
Other names are:
Boys:
Clifford
Samuel
Jared
Thomas
George
Girls:
Emblem
Ida
Edna
Elizabeth
Hazel
Audrey
Kirsteen
Julianna
Suzanne
Marie
Elaine
Your help is invaluable! (Let me know if you want to go to the other board).

This type of question would be far more appreciated in the other board....
Thanks Pavlos

It would be. But Pavlos, you -know- I don't like the other board - they're all mad!...I'll just wrap this query up quickly ...
Ieuan Pedr (yay-an ped'r)
- Sounds great to me.
Few of your family names have Welsh equivalents.
Generally most are used in Wales in the same form as in ENgland/the US.
The exceptions are:
Thomas - Tomos
Elizabeth - Lisa/Bethan
Marie- Mair (mire) or Mari (marry)
Elaine - Elin (el-in), Elen (el-en).
Emblem would be best updated as Emelyn or similar, as Emlyn is a boys name in Wales.
