i'm wondering
i've posted this on the baby board also, a friend of mine is having a baby, a girl i think, and she wants to name it after her dad, his name was Lace Alexander, and i'm wondering 2 things, where does the name Lace come from? and the other is, if it's a boy should she name it Lace or is it to Fem. for a boy? and if it's a girl should she go for Lacey? or is that too much of a common thing to do?

Let's hope it's a girl.
If it is, name her Alice Alexandra and be happy that they're pretty, established, respectable names. (Lewis Carrol used Lacey as a partial anagram of Alice for one of the sisters who lived down the treacle well ...)
If it's a boy, stay with Alexander and abandon the Lace. Or, turn it into Lance.
