well this is an interesting story, I would say.
The name batstone is a english -welsh name that migrated to Canada in the 1700's. The people lived mostly in Newfoundland on the east coast. However the region there was only to farmers and fisherman and many moved to the eastern U.s in the 1930's and 40's. Now there have been Batstone's turn up in Florida , California and all over the world. Most of these but not all come from the Newfoundland connection.
