pet name or informal name
The name Casey is also the short or informal name of Cornelius in Holland
Replies
not true as far as i am concerned
It might be a nice nn to Cornelius, but there is no proof that it is actually used in Holland as a nn of Cornelius. It's also not listed in www.meertens.knaw.nl, which is like the Dutch BTN, so Casey is not Dutch what so ever.
!!!!!!! and ???, see my profile for their names!

Casey? Are you sure? The version I know is Kees, which is pronounced more or less like Case. The y at the end of Casey is most certainly not Dutch.
I agree with Kees. Also Cor or (I believe) Co. There is a soccer coach named 'Co Adriaanse.' I always assumed it was short for Cornelius. I also know an American of Dutch heritage named Cornelius who is called Corky.
