Characters
I'm at a loss for a name for the main character of a novel I'm writing. I've changed it three or four times, and nothing seems to satisfy me. The character is a spirited, intellegent, and rather prococious teenaged girl with dark auburn hair (think Julia Roberts), blue eyes, and she's very tall. I'm kind of looking for something out of the ordinary, because the character's parents were extremely creative and they have lived all over the country. Help!

Sorry, but August is and always has been a guy's name and ya'll can't have it. Try "Loosi"!

Seems lie we're relapsing to the pre-exorcism days, old fruit :(

Blame it on Nan. With an occasional exception, she's gotten too mellow lately.

MELLOW??? MOI???? I am *never* "mellow" -- just cool. And sometimes deceptively sweet. :)Besides, I don't want to scare off any of the newcomers like Phyllis, Liberty, Selwyn, and Sarah Jeanne. It's been awhile since we had any one new come over to our schoolyard to play with us. :)So, I've been behaving myself. I been good. But if that chick Owyda comes back... WATCH OUT! ;)-- Nanaea

NanaeaYou can't scare me off. Heck, if it wasn't for the fact that I have to use the school computers as often as I do and that I have a couple of midterm papers due right now (and I mean *right now*), I'd be bumming with you guys much more often.
Before you ask, one of the papers is for American Indian history since 1887 (on repatriation), the other is for Wicca and Neopaganism class (on the Kaballah and the Internet). I try to drop in as much as I can while searching the 'Net for *legitimate* reasons.Phyllis

Hmmm. How about Angelise, Nina, Anastasia, Ginevra, Anya? Those seem like names creative parents would have given a child 15-18 years ago.

How about Alice?I mean Alice in Lewis Carrolls great tales is both spirited, intellegent and quite something out of the ordinary.

"Alice in Wonderland" PLUS!Excellent suggestion, Selwyn! Especially since Heather's character's parents are supposed to be creative types.Okay, so the mother's favorite childhood book is *Alice in Wonderland*. She cleverly anagrams a name for her daughter using all the letters in that title, including the letters of her own last name, and comes up with maybe any of these:Candela Eldon Irwin
Candela Elinor Wind
Adelia Crown Linden
Ariadne Linden Cowl
Adrienne Linda Cowl
Celandine Rainwold
Celandine Nora WildAll cool names for the character described by Heather, which also happen to be anagrams of "Alice in Wonderland".-- Nanaea

I hope you are paying attention HeatherWhat a good idea Nanaea.
But with all those names she will sound almost like a femme fatal!
I mean if someone have so many names it almost sounds a magic spell
when pronounced. Hokus Pokus Filokus. Candela Elinor Wind

I like names that sound like incantations. :) Out of all of those choices I gave Heather, though, I think "Celandine Rainwold" was my favorite. I can just picture the character that Heather described, with that name.-- Nanaea
