Can you tell me what the abbreviations are for most comman first names? for example: Jno., Wm., Thos., Chas. Jos. etc.

I'm going to take a stab at this (open invite for corrections if I'm wrong on any of them)

Jno. = John
Wm. = William
Thos. = Thomas
Jos. = Joseph

Chas is a nickname for Charles.
