Attempting to learn something about the name ERCEL. Thought it might be a variant of URSULA but that does not seem to be the case. The Social Security death index lists 407 individuals with the given name ERCEL so it's not that rare but I can't seem to find a thing. The specific case that interests me is a young lady [born 1905] named ERCEL TIMM. Her mother is a cousin of my grandfather's but the name never appears in our ancestry [Irish]. Her father is first generation German-American but my German friends tell me it's not a German name. Help!
