Wasn't there someone on this board a little while ago asking about the name Leirin/Leerin/Lierin? Maybe you could dig up something from the database?

Your daughter must have found it somewhere, surely? Or did she invent it?
It looks like a merger between Lyra and an Irishized spelling of Laureen or Lorraine. (Lyra, apart from the musical instrument and the constellation, is the heroine of the Philip Pullman trilogy: Northern Lights is the first book, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. I must point out that invented names are potential minefields. If you can invent a word, so can some industrialist or his ad agency, and your little girl might end up sharing her unique name with bathroom cleaners, equine contraceptives or cheap snacks in crackly packets.
