Re: My name

Hi Lynne,
The Swedish word for lightning is 'blixt', so you probably mean the Danish and Norwegian word for lightning which is 'lyn' (but the pronunciation is different to the name Lynn!).
There is a Swedish word 'lynne' meaning 'mood' and the words for linen (cloth) are:
Danish: linned
Swedish and Norwegian: lin
And there's a goddess (Aesir) in the Nordic Mythology whose name is Hlin (Hlín) which means 'mercy'.
An Old German name Linna means 'waterfall'.
Lynn can also be a short form for names like Linda, Linnéa, Karolin, Eluned etc.
Regards, Satu
