Satu had a good idea! In looking up the meaning of Sabine, it refers one to Sabina, which includes the following explanation: "According to legend, the Romans abducted several Sabine women during a raid. When the men came to rescue them, the women were able to make peace between the two groups."
Sounds to me like it's the name of a peace maker, and thus has a nice meaning! If I were you, Sabeen, I'd keep my name and think of myself as a peace maker.
But if you really don't like the idea that Sabeen possibly could be an Arabic name for "follower of another religion" then you might want to find and ask someone who speaks Arabic if that's what it really means before you change your name. And once you find out for sure, send Mike an email at the address below and let him know he needs to correct the meaning of your name.
