Hi
I want a new goth name.
Eleftherios isnt very good and i wish to change it.
I am looking for a name that means 'The Unforgiven' and sounds quite gothic.
If anyone knows of a name that means that or something similar or knows of where I could find one, please yould you contact me by email
Thanx a lot
Danny

It's always nice to see another time traveller! :)
same here, was looking at the history of this website, seems to be very old, and underrated.
It's crazy seeing "22 years ago" from a post made in 2001. Time really does fly.
I time travelled a long time ago, I just didn’t want to be seen as a weird, lol.
Hey Danny,
Wizzy's taken. And you'd be wise not to let Mr. Free live up to his name in public places. We have laws, ya know. Even if they do allow Gothic activity.
Seriously, you must come from a better class of Goths, given that you have special Goth names. In this town (Godforsaken, NC), the Goth element goes by its/their given names, usually Chris, Josh, or Jeremy, most of which translate from Goth as "my mother's boyfriend threw me out of the trailer and I'm sleeping on my sister's couch until I can get a job at Hot Topic or the record store". Those being the only jobs available to people with 27 piercings and who wear a black shirt for a month between washings in the summer.
But as I said, you're obviously a better grade of Goth (since you frequent this site) and deserve our usual well-thought-out and courteous answer. I was going to suggest you ask Mr. Banana for an alternate Greek name (he's the real thing), but evidently the "Mr. Free" thing put him off and that's not currently an option. Might be worth trying again in a few days, tho. His e-mail's usually in his postings.
So give this a shot, if you haven't already: go to Altavista and type in Name That Goth! You can then select a site run by Ms. Penny Dreadful who has a full array of Goth baby names (or older re-names) for the taking. She tinges the site with a sense of humor, but many of the names are actually quite admirable Goth-wise. It's really worth a look.
And don't give up on "Danny". It's a fine name that may prove useful in a few years once the Goth thing goes away, as it inevitably does for each of us/them. Trust me, Dannys have many more career options than just Hot Topic and record stores. And those piercings heal over once removed, as my son can attest.
Best of luck to you.

I get the slight hint that you are mocking people of a gothic nature.
Do not be so quick to judge and steriotype.
Most of us do have more than two shirts and not all of us need to remove half of our bodyweight to sucessfully pass through a metal detector.
I personally have no peircings at the moment.
But thank you for not placing me in the same catagory as mindless grunge/goth idiots who have nothing better to do but drink piss and shove pins through every roll of skin they can find.
What does Wizzy mean? I've never heard it before.
Thanx a lot anyway
Strange evil gothic bloke

My intention was not to mock you personally, Danny, since I don't even know you. I am only deriding those people I KNOW who pass themselves off as Goth. And believe me, I haven't exaggerated one bit in describing some of the friends of my (non-Goth) daughter who've shown up on our doorstep in the past two years.
If these folks are atypical, then they are giving the rest of you a bad image. And that sucks.
Incidentally, "Wizzy" came up in an earlier board discussion CheBanana and I had on the Roman letter "v" -- was it pronounced "v" or "w" (as in modern Latin)? This led to speculation that the Western Goths, or Visigoths, should be "Wizzygoths", and the puns were all downhill from there.

Eleftherios translated in English would something along the lines of "Mr Free". Eleftherios a gothic name? You gotta be kidding. I would suggest Wizzy.
Eleftherios? Never heard of that name...
