On page 222 of “Our Italian Surnames,” by Joseph G. Fucilla (published 1959, reprinted 1987), the forenames Pasquale and Paschini allude to Easter. An Italian mother might give such a name to a child born on Easter day. It is akin to the Hebrew holy day "pesach" which means "paschal lamb sacrifice," according to the author Alfred J. Pasquini is also a Portugeuse(sp?) last name, you could try that!

i was wrongthe girl i know w/ this last name IS Portugeuse, but the name came from an Italian ancestor. She didn't know the meaning. sorry!
