Well, a few sites I found said it was an Anglo-Saxon name, meaning "good war," and other said it was Hebrew, meaning "flowering field." On all the sites it was a female name. I'm curious, how did you come across this name?

You know, all those weird names that pop up working on genealogy.
But I didn't know this was a name at all, never heard of it befor.

It's a female name. A couple of the less dubious-looking baby name sites out there give its origin as Hebrew and meaning "flowering field" or blooming meadow". I can't independently verify that, but there are probably Hebrew speakers on this board who can.
