There are a couple of options.
Firstly, Genela could be a spelling variation of Janella, which is a pet form of Jane (click hyperlinks for details).
Secondly, Genela could be a combination of a name starting with Gen (Genevieve or Geneva, for example) and Ella, or a pet form of a Gen name.
. . . or it could be something else I haven't thought of! :-D
What is your family's ethnic background? Knowing that would help us to identify other alternative sources for the name.
