If it's gotta be one or the other, Gianni will give the kid very few playground problems. It's basically pronounced "Johnny", right?
As for "Lucien", the only place in North America where it will NOT get the boy turned into ground meat on the playground is Quebec. There even burly truckdrivers sometimes bear the name. If you live anywhere else, have PITY on the child!
But hey, you're extremely sensitive and considerate to even think about this factor. Many people just push ahead with the naming and the kid pays the price.

Thanks for the advice! I really like Lucien, and I think Luca would be a good nickname. But the more I hear from others, the more I fear the name might just have to be put to the wayside. Afterall, there are tons of GREAT names out there...
