There are about a hundred kids named 'Sandeep', boys and girls alike at school. I think they're all indian or hindu (the guys all wear head things) And there's also a lot of 'Preet' kids. They look like they're all from the same place. I was just wondering why they all have the same name.

The guys all wear "head things" (they're called "turbans") probably because they're followers of the Sikh religion. It has a lot of personal names with the "-deep" (lamp) ending.
If you ask nicely, some of the guys might admit that they wear little ceremonial daggers in scabbards strapped across their chests as well -- another Sikh thing that some schools have banned and others have dealt with by requiring in-school daggers to be firmly soldered into their scabbards.
