I, like you, have a fasination for names and have enjoyed your web site - thank you.
What I would like to know is if you have any information on my son's name Garrick. His father chose the name after the fish (my husband enjoys fishing) but I would really like to know if more if there is.

Well, Jennie, despite your husband's mania for fishing, you can now tell inquisitive souls that your child's name *does* mean something other than a species of aquatic, cold-blooded vertebrate.
"Garrick" (fortunately) also happens to be the English form of the French name "Garrigue", which means "grove of oaks". A fairly well-known Garrick is Garrick Utley, the teevee newscaster.
