ATTN: Miranda (Ingrid pronunciation)
I noticed that you asked about the Norwegian pronunciation of Ingrid a few days ago on the Opinions board. The Norwegian pronunciation is indeed pretty close to ING-ree. The "r" is flipped (not rolled like Spanish or pron. like in English), and the emphasis on the first syllable is quite strong. The final vowel is sort of a cross between "ee" and "ih". (I have a good friend named Ingrid from Norway who also was interested in names, so I spent a good long while trying to figure out how to pronounce it correctly).~ Caitlín

The Swedish pr. of Ingrid is ING-rid, with ing as in "sing".
