When searching for the meaning of the name Anoa I came across the name Ainhoa. It was possible that Anoa was derived from Ainhoa. Looking for the meaning of Ainhoa I read somewhere that is refers to the virgin Mary. But I'm not sure as to how reliable this source is...
So, is there anyone who knows for sure...?

I don't know the name Anoa, but i don't think that this name comes from Ainhoa.
Ainhoa is the name of a Basque town in Pyrénées Atlantiques (a French district), where there is an image of the virgin Mary. The web of Euskaltzaindia (the Basque Academy) (www.euskaltzaindia.com) don't give meaning for Ainhoa.
