what does this name mean
I have a friend that uses this word in his email address and when
I asked him what it meant he told me to look it up in norse mythology
can any one tell me what "fenrir" stands for?

I don't know what the name means...
but Fenrir was the son of Loki, the god of mischief in Norse mythology. Fenrir was a monster wolf who, according to a prophecy, was going to destroy the world, so he was chained to a rock by the gods.
If you click on the link to Loki, you'll see that being chained to a rock ran in that family :)
