Caillou is the name of a French-Canadian series of books which was later turned into a cartoon show. It's about the everyday adventures of 4-year-old Caillou (kie-YOO), who just happens to be completely bald, like a little stone.

I know a boy named Caillou personally. His parents are from Louisiana. They changed the spelling informally to Callier, because people struggle with the pronunciation of Caillou here (Texas). They intuitively pronounce Callier something similar to the way Caillou sounds in a Louisiana accent.

While surfing the 'net one day, I came across a few sites that gave an explanation for Pebbles's name--other than the obvious pun. Apparently, Wilma's maiden name was at one point Pebbles. Later they changed it permanently to Slaghoople, but they kept Pebbles as the baby's name.
