hi, can anybody help me in finding the origin of my name.It's Canecia.
I'm a female from australia.I'm not sure where it's from all i know is that my mum worked with a lady in 1984 of the same name,so she decided to call me Canecia.
Any info would be appreciated.Thanx

1. Canecia may be related to Cannaceae, genus of tropical plants, with large leaves and often with showy flowers. A related plant is the Indian shot (Canna Indica), whose seeds have been used as flintlocks and ornaments.
2. Possible relation to the latin Latin "canis", meaning dog. In this respect, the pronounciation of Canecia is strikingly similar to that of Caniche, the French Poodle.
