Wednesday comes from "Woden's Day" or "Oden's Day". Woden (or Oden) was the chief god of the Norse (and is of the Asatru) pantheon the Aisir. I'm not exactly sure what Odin (or Woden means, so I'm adding the hyperlink (for my edification as well as anybody else's.)
