Ardath
Despite a dozen baby-name books to the contrary, "Ardath" does not mean "field of flowers." It's the combination of two Gaelic words - ard - "high," and - ath - "ford": thus a place name meaning "high ford." That's why it turns up as place-names such as Ardath, Saskatchewan and Ardath, Australia. The word ard is cognate with Indo-European ari (cf. Aristotle, and Aryan).
