Sorry about the previous post ... jiya does exist ... I just remembered an old song including the words jiya ghabD.Ae etc. I still do not remember seeing it (or hearing it) except for stock phrases in songs, but it seems like this alteration of jI (which is not only a verbal form as I mentioned in the previous post, but also a noun meaning life, often figuratively) does exist.
I haven't thought about Hindi grammar in a long while ... It's merely one of the first languages I spoke as a kid, so constructs just feel right or wrong, without coming with grammatical tags attached. It is, thus, no surprise that it takes me time to analyze the forms, and I apologize about missing out on the obvious.
