Brayan and Moises/General spelling question
While browsing popularity lists, I've come across quite a few baby boys named Brayan. Is this supposed to be an alternate spelling of Brian, or an independent name, possible with a different pronunciation? I never heard of it till about 2 or 3 years ago. Does anyone know why spelling preferences change every few years? For example, 10 years ago, Ashleigh was preferred over Ashlee, Hayley over Hailey, while now the reverse is true. Bad examples, but I hope you know what I mean.
Also, does anyone know how to pronounce Moises and which cultural group uses this spelling?
Thanks a lot!

Yeah, Brayan is definitely done by donkeys ... I think parents just want fashionable names but also want to be different, and jazz variations on spellings are pretty easy. makes the names seem younger, too, like Betty and Liz and Eliza all being possible forms of Elizabeth but giving very different impressions.
Moises, if it's the French for Moses, would be mwaaz or mwaazeh, not sure but a dictionary would have it.
